Understanding the results

How do you define each verification category? (Deliverable, undeliverable, risky etc.)

These are the 5 different categories you will find once the verification is complete:

Deliverable - We can determine with a high level of confidence that the email address is associated with a valid account.
Undeliverable - We can determine with a high level of confidence that the email address is not associated with a valid account.
Risky - Emails are deliverable, but should be used with caution due to low quality or deliverability. May include Accept All, Disposable, and Role addresses.
Unknown - The domain associated with the email address is not responding, meaning we cannot determine the validity of the email account.
Duplicate - The list contains more than one of the same email.

What are the possible states and reasons for verification results?

Accepted Email: Email address exists and is deliverable.

Undeliverable

Invalid Email: Email address does not pass syntax validations.
Invalid Domain: Email address domain does not exist or is not valid.
Rejected Email: Email address was rejected by the mail server because it does not exist.
Invalid SMTP: Mail server returned an unexpected or invalid response.

Risky

Low Quality: Email address has quality issues that may make it a risky or low value address.

Bulk

Our Bulk solution makes verification easy. With options to upload from your computer or seamlessly integrate with your email marketing platform, it’ll only take a few minutes to import your list, verify it and view your results. Bulk also includes unlimited customizable exports that can be sent directly to your email marketing platform, or downloaded to your computer.

With Bulk, every email on your list is provided with in-depth deliverability information, including an Email Quality Score that ranks an email’s deliverability on a scale from 0-100, its deliverability category (deliverable, risky, undeliverable), and name and gender information when possible.

How do I update my account details?

Click on your avatar on the top right corner of your dashboard. From the dropdown menu, select “My Account” to change your user details and password.

Can I delete my account?

We'd hate to see you go! Although if you must, contact us on support@emailable.com or customer support chat, to delete your account.

Where can I see how many credits I have left?

Again, go to the avatar on the top right corner of your dashboard. In the dropdown menu, you will see your current total credit count.

How do I buy more credits?

Navigate to the top of your dashboard and select "Buy Credits". You also can do so in the billing page in your dashboard.

Can I share my account and credits with my team?

Team accounts allow your team to share one dashboard with individual logins. This way, your team can share credits and access lists that have already been verified.

Invite team members in your dashboard by going to "Account" and inviting them via email.

Is my data safe?

We are committed to providing maximum security for your data and understand its seriousness. For the purpose of identifying whether an email address exists, the verification happens in an online, fully automated system.

“Risky” emails

What are Risky emails?

“Risky” email addresses are those that have low quality or low deliverability. They may exist but are currently facing technical issues that show very low engagement in that mailbox. We classify them as “risky” because they may cause quality issues for your campaigns.

Should I send emails to addresses marked as “Risky”?

Although this category may include emails that are technically still deliverable, we recommend you use caution when emailing any address marked as “Risky” as it may be an Accept All, a Disposable, or a Role address. If you are unfamiliar with any of these terms, read on.

Accept-All: Addresses that will initially accept mail for any address, but may not reach an actual inbox. This can also cause a bounce (a failed delivery notification, which gets returned to the sender).
Disposable: Created often by users who do not wish to give their primary address. These are defined as “Risky” because they are temporary and will only be valid for a short period of time.
Role: These generally define a responsibility rather than a person (i.e. support@ or info@) and often are managed by several people. These emails are often associated with more bounces, more unsubscribes, and decreased engagement rates.

Every list is different, and every company’s threshold for emailing addresses that cannot be specifically defined as “Deliverable” is different.

What is the minimum number of emails I can verify?

No list is too small. You can upload a list of any size, but keep in mind the more credits you buy, the more you save!

How are syntax issues, such as spaces, handled in verification?

Emails, such as emily @emailable.com, will be identified and marked as undeliverable. This way, these issues can be manually resolved and reverified.

How long does it take to verify my list?

The time it takes to verify will vary depending on the emails in your list. As your list is verified we begin to show you the results in real-time. We also provide a progress bar which shows how much of your list has already been verified.

Why is my list stuck at 99% processing?

Sometimes you'll see a little stall at 99% because the system will skip over emails that are taking too long and will go back to them at the end and continue to retry. It takes a moment for the last bit to finish up. Don’t worry, it will be finished shortly.

How do I export my list?

After your list verification is complete, click on your list and head to the Export page on the left hand side of your dashboard. Here you'll be able to select which email categories you'd like to include in your exported list. You'll also have the option to include/exclude additional filters, such as Free, Role, Accept-All, or Disposable emails.

After making your selection, click "Download CSV" or, if you have an integration set up, you can send directly to your integrated service of choice. Either way, you'll receive an email as soon as your export is complete!

How do I export only deliverable emails?

On the results page, click the Export tab. From here you’ll be able to create a new list of emails by selecting the verification categories and filters you wish to include in your export. Keep in mind the categories are pre-selected to only include Deliverable emails, including Free emails.

Why is my export missing some emails?

Make sure you are selecting "Include" for the categories at the bottom of your export.
