FCC Listed Domains
How do we handle verification for email addresses belonging to wireless service provider / SMS gateway domains?
In order to protect customers from unsolicited commercial messages, wireless service providers may register their SMS gateway domains with the Federal Communications Commision (FCC) to a list exclusive to these types of providers.
Domains listed on the FCC Domain List are automatically considered invalid domains, and any email addresses belonging to these domains will be classified as undeliverable when verified.
Email addresses belonging to the listed domains should not be verified through Emailable, even when obtained through opt-in methods.
These addresses do not result in emails being delivered, but instead result in the delivery of an SMS to the phone number in the address.
We do not recommend sending mail to email addresses at these domains, since they make your service vulnerable to abuse. Therefore, we recommend blocking these domains from being used as primary contact emails when users sign up for your service or email list.
